One of theemerging trendsin NGO fundraising is theuseof online media.TheUnited States of America receivesmorethan 2.7 billion dollarsforvariousNGOs online. Technicalexpertshavemadethiseasyby developingapplicationsthat enablemobilephoneusers to donateto their favoriteorganizationsby justtheclickof a tab(Todd, 2013).

Onlinefundraising is onlypossibleifan organizationfollowsacertainprocedure.Firsttheorganizationmust makeitself visiblein theonline platform(Bray, 2008). Theorganizationmust runa website pagethat receivesregularupdates. Itshould alsouseotheronline platformslike Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter among others. Mostof thepeopleare nowonline, andtheycan accessthesepagesin anyplacearound theglobe.Theapproachgivestheorganizationa chanceto marketitself. Whenusingthesesocialplatforms,theadministratorsof thesepagesshould be consciousof thedifferenttimezonesto avoidleavingotherpeoplebehind (Ruby, 2015).

Secondly,itis necessaryforan organizationto havea freee-newsletter that givesa detailof their successstoriessuccessstories.Themethodis cheapandhas a widercoverage comparedwith printnewsletters. Nothingattractstheattentionof donorslike evidenceof activitiesandsuccessstories.Thereare variousapplicablestrategiesin fundraising boththrough online andusingotheravenues.Thestrategiesalsostandas principles.First,an organizationhas to spendmoneyin orderto attractdonations.Donorsare willingto givedonationsto causesthat showa highprobabilityof success(Barden, 2013). Themeasureof successof an organizationis thenumberof implementedprojectsandsuccessstories.An organizationshould, therefore,be willingto expresstheir successthrough theonline platform.Thesuccessstoriescan be sharedthrough newsletters handwebsites. Picturesplayan importantroleingivingevidencethatthere wasan implementation of projects(Barden, 2013).

Anorganizationshould alsoemploya varietyof toolsto solicitforfunds.All theavailablemethodsapplicableto reachthetargeted donorsneeda focuson them. Forexample,whensolicitingformoneyonline, theuseof thee-mail may not be enough.Informationis likelyto gounnoticedat first.Usingothermethodslike thefax andFacebook pageswill increasethechancesof consideration(Kimball, 2014).

Anorganizationshould requestforreferrals from successfuldonors.Thesereferrals strengthenthefutureborrowingcapacitybecausetheoperationsof theorganizationhavea referral. On thesamenote,organizationsshould alwayslookfornewpotentialdonorsto expandtheir financialbase.In casesomedonorswithdraw,theactivitiesof theorganizationwill not be calledoff due to lackof funds(Daniels &amp Narayanswamy, 2014).

Inconclusion,NGOs should exhaustall themethodsavailableforfundraising to implementtheir projects.Due thecurrentraisin numberof NGOs, itis necessaryforNGOs to remainvisibleespeciallyin theonline platforms.Themorevisiblean organizationis, themoreitis likelyto receivemoredonations.
