Producersandfilmhousessignednewdeals.Thechallengeof fewqualityactorswassolvedby gettingactorsfrom outside thecountrythat, of course,costthefirms moremoney.

Theverticalintegrationwasestablishedto reducethecontrolof largefirms in thefilmindustry.Thepoliciesof verticalintegrationrequiredthebigfirmsto sellsomeof their filmhouses,andthiswasbeneficialto thesmallerfirms becausetheycould findplacesto showtheir film.Thepolicyalsorequiredcompaniesto useindependentproducers.Theapproachwasbeneficialto both thelargeandsmallfirms becausetheviewership controlledby thequalityof thefilm.Notrade-offs wereallowedunder thenewpolicy,andthismeantthatsmallcompaniescould not be boughtoff by thelargecompanies(Turim, 2013).

Thetechnological factorsthat markedthefilmindustryin the1920s ledto theadoptionof arcsto producelight.Theuseof sunlightas themainsourceof lightwasthenorm.Theadoptionof arcsandmercury vaporlightsenhancedthequalityof images.Thetechnology reducedinterruptedrecordingsandreducedthecostof production(Turim, 2013).

Theemergenceof manyactorsandfilmhousesledto theemergenceof manycharactersin theAmerican society.To suittheir audiencesandto exploitthefreedomthat existed,filmhouseproducedfilmswith explicitcontent like prostitution,drugabuse,abortionamong others. Asetof conductforallfilmproducerswasputin place.Thefilmhousesadoptedthisby firstabolishingtheindividualcommitteesthat lookedinto thecontent of thefilmforeachmedia house.Thefaceof Hollywood receivedrehabilitation, andthefirms receivedfewcomplaintsfrom thecivilbodies(Turim, 2013).

Duringthelatesilentera,theAmerican filmborroweda lotfrom theEuropean experimentalmethods.TheAmerican filmsassimilatedtheEuropean methodsthrough theadditionof aestheticsforconclassicalfilms.Theapproachhelpedto addsomefictioninto thefilms.Thedirectorsplayeda criticalrolein helpingto addnewartisticmovementsthat wee borrowedfrom European countries.

ToAfrican American didnot respondto filmsthat hadtoomuchto dowith thewhite people.Thisturnoutwaslowforsuchfilms.Thefilmmakers includedblack charactersandsettingsto suittheblack people.

Thereasonbehind theemergenceof filmEurope wasto counter theinfluentialroleplayedby theAmerican filmmakers in themarket.Its effortswerehaltedby thetendencyof countriesto concentrateon domesticmarketsadeconomicgrowthratherthan forminginternationalcorporations.

Duringthesilentera,artcinemareceiveda lotof supportfrom themuseumof artthat helpedto distributeitat a lowcost.Itwasregardedas agoodmethodto educatepeopleon their wayof lifeandtheuniverse,in general.Thecommitteeof artcinemaalsousedtheUniversity of California to promotefilms.

Surrealism,Dada andcinemapur relied on n theprincipleof impressionist fixation.Theyhadthesamefirm, rhythmandmovementof themedium.However,Dada differedfrom therestdue to its deliberatehostilityin thescenes.Surrealism on theotherhandbased its productionon psychoanalytic theory,an approachthattheothertwo methodsdidnot use(Turim, 2013).
