Sexism in the workplace: No escape

The author addresses four main issues. These are sexism,discrimination, stereotyping against women and male dominance. Sexismis the most dominant issue in the article, as the author repeatedlydescribes how this affects women in the workplace. The authorhighlights the issues of discrimination by the manner in which womenare treated in the workplace, for instance, earning less than men forequal work completed. The author also describes how women arestereotyped to be aggressive and unfriendly. Lastly, the entirearticle highlights incidences of male dominance in the workplace.

Accordingto Savastio (2014), women suffer many inequalities in the workplace.These come in forms of wages, treatment in meetings, promotions andeven dismissals on clumsy grounds. Savastio (2014) vouch for theadvancement of feminist activism, especially in the workplace, tohelp the women out of such suffering and subjection.

Theauthor’s work is gratifyingly credible. This is because she usesinformation from credited sources, such as research studies and fromofficial bodies to substantiate her claims. For instance, she usesinformation from the findings of a study by Princeton, an employmentfirm in UK, and other equally credible sources. Additionally, shebacks up the findings of the studies from expert views in the field.Therefore, it can confidently be stated that the author uses researchto support her opinion. The main strength of the article findings isthat the information is credible. However, the major weakness is thatthere is a lack of empirical evidence to support the claims. Theinformation from the article can be used by a school administrator tomonitor and manage any incidences of sexism, discrimination,stereotyping against women and male dominance within the institution.
