Researchersanalyzedtheeffectof crossinglegson themeasurementof bloodpressureon 100 patients. All thepatientsweresufferingfrom hypertension and they camefrom theoutpatient departmentof a hospital(Foster et al., 1999, p. 105).Theresearchfolloweda strictqualitative designplanthat enabledtheoutcomes.

Thedesignin thisquantitative researchinvolvedtheuseof one groupof people, anditcan be saidto be a quasi-experiment. Toderivetheoutcomes, there wasnomanipulationorcontrolof thesubjects.Themethodof sampling is not randombecausethesamplesshould havetherequiredcharacteristicsof highbloodpressure (Foster et al., 1999, p. 107).ANOVA wastheonlymethodof data analysisin thisresearchand. Therefore, there wasfastdata analysis.

Theresearchdesignhas its strengthsandweaknesses.First,a conclusionis arrivedat veryfastsince a singlevariable beingtested.Theeffectof crossedlegswasgottenimmediatelywhenthepatients`pressurewhenheis relaxingandwhenheis crossingthelegswastaken.Secondly, theidiographic causation of artificialpressurewith referenceto crossedlegsis immediatelyknown. There is noneedforextratimeto observethepatient. However, theoutcomesof thisquantitative designare likelyto be influencedby otherindividualfactorsin thepatientsthat might not be focusedon theresearch, forexample, otherailments.

Whencontrastedwith theassessmentof safetyandefficacyof combiningPaclitaxel-eluting balloonandLimus eluting stent in thesamelesion, thelattertestsseveralvariables (Basavarajaiah et al., 2013, p. 259). Aquantitative designis saidto be experimentalwhenthesamplesin severalgroups.Theresultsof thelesionin thosewhousedDEB only, thosewhousedDES onlyandan analysisdoneon thosewhousedthetwo combinations. In thesecondresearch, there wasa lotof controlandmanipulation.Theoutcomesof theresearchcould not be achievedon thespotbecausetheresearchers hadto observethepatientshealingprocess.Theapproachis unlike in thefirstresearchwheretherewereimmediateresults.
